Hello, You have come to this page to see if you can find out a little more about that name on the Welcome Page, Kaye.
A website is a strange thing, it can hook you in or it can make you go oh! that's nothing special. So this is for those of you who want to know who I am and what I expect out of life.
I trained as a Massage Therapist in 2003. This was after a gap from working due to health problems which are now no longer relevant and bringing up two children who are now both succeeding at School. It appealed to me since it was a job I could set my own hours to, so it would fit in around the children, but also it was a natural therapy that helped me in so many ways that I wanted to pass on that benefit to others, and I have been doing so ever since. As you will see from the rest of the site I am particularly interested in the younger members of society but not to the exclusion of everyone else.
Before this revelation, I was employed in various administration jobs, which to put it mildly were not very stimulating and restricted my access to People which is what I enjoy. I started in a Public Library and the variations that came with working with the general public was a part of working life that I missed when I moved to the private sector.
For enjoyment outside of the workplace before I became a mother, I was very involved with the Scout Movement. Both my daughters are now involved as my eldest is a Scout and my youngest is now a Cub. Girls being allowed to join the Scouts has now become compulsory, for more information see www.scoutbase.org.uk and for those of you local to Wokingham www.wokinghamscouts.org.uk will give you the list of who will and won't take girls. This involvement with the Scout Movement led to me getting involved with the local Gang Show www.sebgangshow.co.uk, and my daughter is now a member of the Gang!
The ethos of Scouting is the basis for most of my life and I have enjoyed a wide variety of experiences from Camping to Caving to being on Stage and performing, and a lot of this is relevant for my business, it helps me particularly to deal with people from very different walks of life and different experiences to my own with an understanding which is so often missing from our society today. I did attain my Queens Scout Award and am very proud of the fact that I represented my Unit (Venture Scouts back then) at Windsor in front of the Queen.
After I had become a more mature member of society! I joined a local group of Women who ranged in age at one point from early 20's until retirement and beyond ,sadly this has had to close, after 35 years, due to lack of members. We all got on really well, and I learnt such a lot from the different talks we used to have. They saw me through my difficulties with my second pregnancy, and made sure that my brain didn't stay 'mashed potato' with the talks (there was a Creche on site so I got two hours of freedom!) I was chair of this group for two years and although they were tough years personally for me, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was a member for nearly 11 years.
Here are some words of wisdom from my Grandmother, which I also try to live by (at times more successfully than others!)
Always remember this: You are never fully dressed until you have put on a smile. It doesn't matter what you feel like inside, it will improve if you wear a smile.
I hope this has given you an insight into myself.
Please enjoy the rest of the site, the information is for your benefit.
