Anything from one hour to an hour and a half (for a full body Massage) depending on the problem, if there is one, and how many complications with medical history you have.
Will I have to remove my clothing?
Yes.For the men, it is no different to going swimming, you remove all clothing except your underpants. For the ladies they will need to remove their bras as well.
Will I be naked on the couch?
No. When you have removed your clothing and have got on to the couch, you will be covered with towels (towelled up).Only the part of your body which is being worked on will be exposed and obviously your head so you can breathe.
Will it hurt?
That depends on the problem! If you have very stiff muscles a good massage needs to be slightly painful to do any good, however, if you experience excruciating pain then something is very wrong. Massage should not, on the whole be painful.
Do you use essential/aromatherapy oils?
No. I am not an aromatherapist.I use what are known as carrier oils, the two that most people will be most familiar with will be Olive Oil, and Sweet Almond Oil.
I use Grapeseed oil as a general rule, because it is not taken from a nut and therefore does not cause problems for those of you with nut allergies.
What should I do if I have a medical problem?
Always check with your doctor first before you book an appointment, it saves time and frustration. If you come to me first with a specific problem, I could well say to you, I cannot treat you please consult your doctor and come back to me.If you are not sure talk to your doctor, consultant or specialist nurse before you approach any therapist, and do let them know what treatments you are receiving. This will bring us closer to integrated healthcare.
